Once you have landed at Langkawi International Airport (LGK), you will be greeted warmly by the huge signboard that states “Welcome to Langkawi – The Duty Free Island”. Serving up to 2.5 million passengers annually, the airport is always well-organized without a slight sense of messiness. The arrival entrance leads directly to the baggage collection area with trolleys orderly lined up at the side, providing passengers with thoughtful convenience as they do not have to venture too far for baggage collection.
The Plaza Premium Lounge was newly opened at LGK in early October 2011. It is in fact the 4th lounge of the Plaza Premium Lounge network in Malaysia after our establishments in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (International Departures and LCC Terminal), and Senai International Airport, Johor.
Conveniently located at the international and domestic departures after the immigration and before the security check point, the new Plaza Premium Lounge provides full range of amenities, food in buffet style, beverages and beer as well as shower, luggage handling facilities and meet and greet services for both domestic and international travelers. The lounge is also Wi-Fi enabled with international entertainment such as TV channels for news, movies and sports; as well as newspapers and magazines for reading pleasure.
Ms. Lai Sze Mun, the first guest of the lounge, commented, ‘I am very surprised to find Plaza Premium Lounge at such a relatively small airport. I enjoy a lot the food and the internet service at the lounge .’
The BAR, also managed by Plaza Premium Lounge Management Limited, is the first ever bar open at LGK. Carrying a modern design with a relaxing ambience, it serves all kinds of international beers and pizza freshly prepared right in front of the customers.
Plaza Premium Lounge network will continue to grow aggressively in Malaysia with new lounges to be unveiled in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching International Airports in the coming months. Watch out for our announcements!
